Family Heritage Storybook

For Christmas this year my 79 year old mother created a digital storybook for her 3 children.  She did the same thing last year.  I shared last year's storybook with you here.

Creating family heirloom digital albums is very easy with our Storybook Creator 3.0 program and our beautiful predesigned pages.

My mother created this years book about her grandmother and used our Vintage Predesigned Pages.

With a little start up instruction from me she was able to drag and drop her pictures onto the pages, add her text and she was done.

For those of you who have been shying away from digital scrapbooking because you are a little intimidated, don't be!  If my 79 year old mother can do it - you can do it!
Since I am pretty sure neither of my siblings reads this blog I am going to share a link to the storybook my mom created so you can see it for yourself.

If you don't have an account at Creative Memories' digital center you will need to create one in order to few it.

Just follow this link to my mom's new storybook!

Project Center Recipe Holder Idea

I hosted my annual First Line Holiday Breakfast on Saturday.  Usually we do a page exchange.  Everyone brings a pre decorated page wrapped up.  We then do an exchange by picking numbers etc.

This year I decided to change things up a bit and instead of pages I said they needed to bring something that was made using an idea they got off the Project Center.  There is so much amazing stuff there!!!

For my gift for the exchange I decided to make something from the Traditional Ideas (there are also tons of Digital ideas in another section.)

From the Holiday Project Idea of the Day I made the fun recipe holder.  The only change I made was to make it a bit bigger so it would accomodate 4 x 6 pictures and recipe cards.

I used paper and stickers from the Primary Christmas Addition Pack

I created the recipes and the photo cards in Storybook Creator 3.0

I used our new scoring blade on the new rotary cutter to score the cardboard so it would fold and form a stand.

I thought it turned out pretty cute and was a fun way to share some holiday cookie recipes!

Do you have a favorite project you have made from the Photo Center?

Problems sending jpeg

OK so I guess the jpegs for the advent calendars are too big to email.  I have them uploaded to my Costco account so if you are a member of Costco I can send you a link to share the album so if you still want them (so sorry!) send me another email and let me know you belong to Costco and I will send you the Costco share link.  You can then just order them through Costco and have them printed there at your local Costco.

Countdown to Christmas Downloads

If you requested the jpegs for the advent calendars but haven't received them in your email yet please leave another comment with your email or email me directly with it -  Some of your emails don't show up with your comment so I don't know where to send the files - thanks!

Countdown to Christmas

It's time!  It's time to start counting down to Christmas.  What a better way to do that then with a darling advent calender created in Storybook Creator using some of our holiday/Christmas digital downloads!

Thanks To Debby Lazarone and Dawn Oldham for sharing their cute calendars.  Just print them as 12 x12 prints and add your candy.

I used Rolos and Dove chocolate.  They were attached with hot glue.  They fit perfect on an Everyday Display board or can be hung on a bulletin board.

I took calendars for each of the families and college students who we would see at Thanksgiving - hoping it makes me the popular aunt!

Have fun creating your own or if you would like the jpeg for the ones below just leave a comment and I will email them to you!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?  Is your menu planned, your groceries bought?

Well, what about your table decor?  One quick and easy way to bring some color and a special touch to your holiday table is by adding place cards.  Everyone loves to see their name in print and what better way to make them feel welcomed and loved.

These placecards were created quickly and easily through Storybook Creator 3.0

I just opened a 4 x 6 project.  I filled the background with one of the papers from the Giving Thanks Digital kit.  Using the measuring guides on the side I divided the page into quarters so I could space the embellishment and the name properly.

I printed them onto a cardstock weight paper.  I cut them in half and then folded them in half to create a cute little tent card.

Now everyone knows where to sit and feels welcome - no questions asked!

Don't Judge a Product by it's Cover

The last two days I have been hosting my Annual Creative Memories Holiday Open House at my home.  One of my favorite events each year.

I love seeing some of my customers who I only see at this event and getting caught up.

I also enjoy seeing all the CM product line out together.  I take over the lower level of my house and spread it all out.

I also always do up some special page samples etc.

This year CM came out with a new product - Decorative Cardstock.  Honestly, I thought they were ugly  What on earth was I suppose to do with them?

Well, after out team webinar on Monday and seeing the cute title pages that Laura Clausen had done up I had to give it a try - what kind of consultant would I be if I didn't try to embrace all of our products.

Look at these cute pages I made using the Harvest Deocrative Cardstock.  There is also a  Basic Decorative Cardstock.

I  think they would make great title pages for family or trip albums!

So - lesson learned - don't judge a product by it's cover!!

Tag Idea

Just wanted to share another fun way to use our new Tag Maker.

I helped with a wedding this summer and for part of the table decorations we cut a picture of the bride and groom into a tag shape - using the tag maker.  Then the tag shaped picture was matted onto paper and then the paper was cut to form a narrow border around the picture  - make sense!.  We punched a hole in the top, added ribbon and tied it around the flower arrangements.  So cute and so personal.

The photo was personalized with the name of the bride and groom and the wedding date in Storybook Creator 3.0!

Another great idea would be to personalize your gift tags for the upcoming holidays.  Get a picture of the person who the gift is for or maybe a photo of the two of you together.  Cut the picture into a tag using the tag maker and add it to the package.  They will know who it is for and who it is from!!!
Have fun - any other fun ideas for the tag maker?  Leave a comment and share!!

My Favorite Maker

My favorite shape maker that Creative Memories has come out with is the Tag Maker!  It is awesome.

No more having to buy gift tags or hurriedly cut one out of leftover wrapping paper.

Creative Memories has tons of cute ideas on the CM Project Center.

For Christmas gifts this year for some of my girlfriends I am going to make up a selection of gift tags and give them with some neutral, brown kraft wrapping paper and a cute roll of ribbon!  Isn't that a fun idea?!

Use the Tag Maker to create all kinds of fun an unique gift tags for this holiday season.  They would be perfect on packages, cookie plates etc.
Here are a few of my favorite tag ideas from the Project Center - the possibilities are endless!!

Halloween Ideas

I wanted to share the cute Halloween ideas I put together for my team meeting this past week.

Here are the candy bars I did using the directions for the Project Center.

I also used our Limited Edition Trick or Treat Addition to create some cute cupcake toppers for the cinnamon cupcakes I served at the team meeting.  Aren't they cute!

I used the rest of the addition to create a fun BOO banner.  I cut the larger sheets of paper to the same size as the photo mounting mats that come in the kit.

I then used the stickers that came in the kit to decorate it up a bit!

I used the wavy blade on the rotary trimmer to  put a decorative edge on some of the banner pendants.

A quick and easy way to add some holiday decor to your party or home!

Picfolio Ideas

Since I began Creative Memories 19 years ago I have completed a family album every year.  They are all in black albums and line the shelves of my family room.

Here is a picture of some of them. (The rest are on the other wall)

For my 2008 family album I decided to change it up a bit.  I chose an Expandable Picfolio Album to use for my family album.

This was a bit of a stretch for me after 28 years of using a traditional scrapbook but I was up for the challenge.

I am now a Picfolio convert!

Completing an entire year of my families photos in one day was enough to convert me!

I couldn't believe how quick and easy it went together and with the new Expandable Picfolio I was able to fit an entire years worth of photos(and 2008 was a BIG year for photos) into one full Expandable Picfolio and one regular Picfolio.

Here are some photos of some of my pages.  I used the Earthy Milestone Kit to add some color and decoration to the pages and some of our great Monogram ABC sticker letters to jazz things up!

If you've been hesitant to try this new style of scrapbook I encourage you to give it a try - so quick and easy!!

I had my pictures printed with a white border around them for the Picfolio - I liked the way that offset them against the tan colored page.  It gave the photos/pages a more finished look.

Storybook Creator Idea

This last week I was in charge of the food for a women's function at church.  We were serving the food buffet style.  Since I am one of those people who likes to know what I am eating I decided to create little cards that could be placed by each dish so people would know what it was.

Of course Storybook Creator was the perfect thing to create these cards in - it was super quick and easy!

I chose a 4 x 6 template and then used paper from the Give Thanks digital kit.  Just dropped the paper in, added some text and printed!  Easy!

I found some cute little stands at the Dollar Store - 2/$1.00 that worked perfect for holding the signs.

Not only were the signs functional but they were pretty too and added some additional decoration to the fall themed tables!
